Portuguese Player Snaps Up €61.5 Million EuroMillions Jackpot

A Portuguese EuroMillions player matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars on Tuesday 13th March to win a €61.5 million (£54.6 million) jackpot. It was the country’s 67th top prize success since EuroMillions launched in 2004.

EuroMillions Winning Numbers

The EuroMillions winning numbers for Tuesday 13th March were 9, 11, 13, 33 and 49 with Lucky Stars 6 and 12. More than 1.8 million ticket holders scooped prizes, ranging from €3.50 (£2.20) for matching two main numbers to €304,873 (£188,271) for the three ticket holders (from the UK, France and Portugal) who matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star.

Portuguese EuroMillions Winner

The Portuguese National Lottery has revealed the winning ticket was sold in Braga, in the north of the country. The city boasts a population of nearly 150,000 inhabitants, one (or more if it is a syndicate) of whom is now rich beyond their wildest dreams.

They are the first of their compatriots to hit the pan-European lottery’s top prize since Tuesday 8th August 2017, when a single player collected €36.5 million (£33 million). The country also produced one of the three players to win the maximum €190 million jackpot, when a ticket holder from Castelo Branco scooped the sum on 24th October 2014.
