Powerball Jackpot Powers Past the Half-Billion Dollar Barrier

Powerball Jackpot Powers Past the Half-Billion Dollar Barrier

The Powerball jackpot has shot through the half-a-billion dollar mark after another draw without a winner last night, and will offer the largest prize of the year when the next game takes place on Saturday night. An estimated $510 million will be available, making it the biggest jackpot since a record $1.58 billion was given away in January 2016.

The numbers drawn on Wednesday were 9, 15, 43, 60 and 64, with Powerball 4. While there were more than 2.6 million players across the U.S who picked up prizes, nobody managed to win the jackpot of $430 million. It is now set to grow significantly ahead of the weekend draw, becoming the fifth largest jackpot in Powerball history.

The fact that more tickets are expected to be sold in the next few days makes it more likely that the jackpot will be won, and anyone who matches all five main numbers plus the Powerball will have the option of taking the full amount in 29 annual instalments, or a cash sum of around $324.2 million.

Anyone who does win the Powerball jackpot will be instantly catapulted to a level of wealth on a par with some of the world’s top celebrities. Tom Hanks, Elton John and Beyonce are all estimated to be worth around $470 million, quite a way behind the current Powerball jackpot.

There have already been four jackpot winners in 2017, and if you would like to become the fifth you can buy tickets from retailers in authorised states or choose your numbers online. Good luck!
