Wednesday, November 29, 2017

A UK Lotto ticket holder has come forward to collect an £18.1 million jackpot. The prosperous player correctly matched the numbers 1, 20, 24, 36, 54 and 58 in the draw on Saturday 18th November to scoop the eight-figure sum and end a run of seven consecutive rollovers.

Despite the winner’s contact, National Lottery officials are yet to divulge whether the victor is a single player or part of a syndicate. However, Andy Carter, the organisation’s senior winners’ advisor, has already offered words of congratulations to the mystery millionaire. Speaking to reporters after the news had broken, Carter said: “We look forward to helping this ticket holder settle into their new lifestyle. I’ll ensure we have a glass of ice cold champagne ready to toast their win.”

“An Amazing Year for Lotto Players”

It has certainly been a glorious year for UK Lotto fans, with a total of 15 top prizes being shared between 19 ticket holders. Players have also been treated to a number of huge jackpots, including 11 over £10 million, three of which even exceeded the £20 million mark. “It’s been an amazing year for Lotto players with numerous giant jackpots won,” exclaimed Carter.

Two of the rewards on offer even managed to smash through the game’s £22 million jackpot cap. This first occurred on Wednesday 24th May, when two players each matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to split a £25.5 million must-be-won prize pot, before the feat was repeated on Wednesday 18th October as five players received £5 million apiece in the same tier.
