Millionaire for Life Prizes

Like other draw games, Millionaire for Life has several prize tiers with different odds. With 9 possible prize brackets, you win different amounts based on how many numbers you match, and whether you match the Millionaire Ball.

Millionaire for Life Prize Tiers and Odds of Winning

Additional Information

The top Millionaire for Life prize is parimutuel. This means that if multiple people win the jackpot, the prize is split amongst the winners - and what happens to the lifetime payment? It goes down but all winners get a big slice of the prize each. This is aside from if 21 or more winners win the jackpot, in which case there is no annuity option and winners are given lump sums.

Players can also choose not to go with the annual payments and instead get a one-time lump sum cash payment of $18 million. The cash option for the second prize is $2.2 million.

How to Claim Prizes

If you win a prize - congratulations - now you need to claim it promptly. Be careful here, as the rules about this are different depending on which state you bought the ticket in. If you win a prize up to or equalling $500 (3 main numbers plus the Millionaire Ball), then you should be able to claim it at your chosen licensed lottery retail store.

For prizes over $600, you will need to send a completed claim form to the lottery headquarters, along with your signed ticket as proof. If you win either of the top two prizes, you must provide your valid government-issued ID as well (passport or driver's license). You may also need to provide your ITIN or Social Security card.
