South Africa ‘Home-Sweet-Home’ Raffle Set For 29th December
South Africa’s Raffle will return on 29th December after National Lottery operator Ithuba announced details of the latest draw, including how you can play and what you can win. Tickets are already on sale for the ‘Home-Sweet-Home’ raffle and a total of R12.5 million is set to be given away in prize money. It is billed as an opportunity to ‘open the door to a R2 million home’, with six lucky players set to get the chance to win houses worth R2 million.
The game will work in a similar way to previous raffles, and all you need to do to take part is visit an authorised retailer or play online. Tickets are also available through RA Cellular and A2Pay channels and will cost R50 each.
A unique random number will be generated every time you play, but there is only a limited supply of 500,000 entries so you are only allowed to purchase a maximum of 40 tickets.
The six winners of the top prize will be selected at random on the night of the draw, and will then have up to a year to come forward and claim their prize. A media ceremony has been planned for 1st February 2019 in Johannesburg, before R2 million is to be deposited straight into each of the winner’s bank accounts.
In addition to the six big winners, there will be a further 50 prizes of R10,000. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 8,929 if all the tickets are sold. See the South Africa Raffle page for more information.
History of the South Africa Raffle
South Africa’s Raffle was launched in 2016 as a way to offer players the chance to win luxury prizes as well as cash awards. The top prize in the first draw were Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolets, while last Christmas there were more cars up for grabs as the big winners took home Mini Cooper convertibles.
The R2 million prizes available this year are the highest value awards to have been put up by Ithuba so far in the Raffle’s history, with lucky winners able to think about moving into the house of their dreams.
If you want to try and become one of the lucky winners, you can head down to an authorised retailer to snap up a ticket straight away.
